DAY 330 - Daniel 2:44 the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; … and it shall stand forever.

Daniel 2:44 (New King James Version)

44 And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

DAY 325: James 5:14-16 The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

James 5:14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

DAY 321: Psalm 116:12 What shall I render to the LORD For all His benefits toward me?

DAY 321: Ezekiel 36:26-27 – I will give you a new heart…I will put My Spirit within you

Ezekiel 36:26 "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
27 "I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.

Test Review/Class Recap

Lesson 1 – Created in His Image

Nine characteristics of God (What Is God Like?) (and we’re created to be like Him):

  1. Creative – Genesis 1-2
  2. All Powerful – Ephesians 1:19-23
  3. Faithful & True – Deut 7:9, 1 Cor 1:19, Rev 19:11, 1 Ths 5:24
  4. Love – 1 John 4:16, John 3:16
  5. Eternal – Deut 33:27
  6. Holy – 1 Samuel 2:2, Rev 4:8
  7. Just – 1 Peter 3:18, Rev 15:3
  8. Merciful – Eph 2:4-8, Ti 3:5, Heb 4:16, 1Pet 1:3,2:10, 2Pet 3:9
  9. Good – Luke 18-19, Romans 2:4, Matt 7:11

Lesson 2 – The Early Years
(Adam & Eve, Able & Cain, Enoch)

The choices made in life determine destiny.
Text: Genesis 3:8-24, 1 Corinthians 15:22

Lesson 3 – Abraham

Text: Genesis 15:6  – Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness.

Lesson 4 – Joseph, The Dreamer

Text: Genesis 37:19 – Joseph’s brothers referred to Joseph as a dreamer.

Text: Genesis 37:18-35, John 10:10 – The thief comes to steal your dream. As a result hat and resentment can fester.  You can refused to be comforted. Joseph did NOT respond like this.

Text: Genesis 45:5 Joseph was sent to Egypt to preserve life, this was his mission.

Lesson 5 – Moses

Text: Exodus 3:10 – God gives Moses his mission to bring the people of God out of Egypt.

Text: Exodus 4:1-9,12 – God gives Moses supernatural ability to perform his mission.

Text: Exodus 4:10-17, 6:10-13 – Moses focuses on his own ability.  People of God should NOT behave like this.  If God calls, He equips.

Lesson 6 – David

Text: 1 Samuel 16:1-3, 6-13 Man looks on the outward appearance, but God looks on the heart.

Text: 2 Samuel 13 one of David’s biggest failures was his family.  Remember your family is your first ministry (after relationship with God).

Text: 1 Samuel 13:14 David was a man after God’s own heart.  David trusted in the Lord. David was a worshipper, he esteemed and honor leadership, he  kept his word, David was loyal.

Lesson 7 – Peter

Text: Matt 14:22-33, 17:1-8, 19:27-29, John 13:3-9, 18:1-11 Peter was impulsive, outspoken and bold.  So don’t worry.  God can use all personality types.

Lesson 8 – Paul

Miracles by the hand of Paul:

  1. Sorcerer made blind – Acts 13:6-12
  2. Lame man healed Acts 14:8-18
  3. Girl delivered from the spirit of divination – Acts 16:16-19
  4. Eutychus raised from the dead – Acts 20:7-12
  5. Handkerchiefs – Acts 19:11-12

Paul’s revelations:

  1. Justification by faith – Romans 4-5, Galatians 2-3
  2. Identification with Christ – Romans 6, Galatians 2:30
  3. Gifts of the Spirit – 1 Corinthians 12
  4. Marriage – 1 Corinthians 7
  5. Fruit of the Spirit – Galatians 5
  6. Five-fold ministry – Ephesians 4
  7. The new covenant – Hebrews
  8. Grace – Romans 2:4

DAY 319: Psalm 113:5 Who is like the LORD our God, Who dwells on high,

Psalm 113:5 (New King James Version)

5 Who is like the LORD our God,
         Who dwells on high,

how the prayer class has affected you; what have you learned (if anything)?

I have learned the following three truths from prayer class.

1)  intimacy.  “Prayer is communication for the purpose of relationship which lead to intimacy with God.”

Intimacy is the ultimate goal of prayer.  Intimacy simply means to know God. Similarly as Adam knew his wife, Eve which produced their first fruits of Cain and Abel.  Or as I intimately know my wife, Felicia and we had a son, Caleb.

Fruit bearing is a byproduct of intimacy.  The majority of the common contemporary teaching on prayer (which I mostly rejected) has been on how to get your prayers answered; as if God is just a big Santa Clause.

The truth of ultimate goal is prayer is intimacy will follow me to eternity.

2)  The second truth I learned was the difference between repeated confessions (or declarations) and vain repetitions as my Saviour specified in Matthew 6:7.

Matthew 6:7 “And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.”

Simply put, the heart of the repeater determines if it an effect confession/declaration or vain repetition.

3)  Thirdly, I learned that we can worship each expression of God (i.e.  God as Father,  God as Son, and God as Holy Spirit) I was kind of getting a bit legalistic in my prayers based upon the following scripture.

John 16:23 “And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.”

Thanks Mary Parker for letting the Lord use you to teach this class.

DAY 317: Hebrews 11:17-19 By faith Abraham, offered up Isaac, concluding that God was able to raise the promised seed from the dead

Hebrews 11:17 By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
18 of whom it was said, "In Isaac your seed shall be called,"
19 concluding that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from which he also received him in a figurative sense.

DAY 316: Hebrews 11:4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain…God testifying of his gifts:

Hebrews 11:4 (King James Version)

4By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

DAY 315 – Hebrews 10:38-39 we are not those who draw back, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul

Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him."
39 But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.

DAY 314: Hebrews 10:1-17 we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all

Hebrews 10:1 For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect.
2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins.

4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.

9 then He said, "Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God." He takes away the first that He may establish the second.
10 By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God,
13 from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool.
14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

16 "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,"
17 then He adds, "Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more."

DAY 314: Psalm 108:5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, And Your glory above all the earth;

Psalm 108:5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, And Your glory above all the earth;

DAY 313: Hebrews 9:11-28 the death of the Testator once offered, cleanses our conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Heb 9:11 But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation.
12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.

14 how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
15 And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.
16 For where there is a testament, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
17 For a testament is in force after men are dead, since it has no power at all while the testator lives.

22 And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.

27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,
28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

DAY 311 – Hebrews 8: a better covenant established on better promises

Hebrews 8 -

6 But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.
7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second.

10 "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

12 "For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more."
13 In that He says, "A new covenant," He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

DAY 308: Ezekiel 11:19-20 And I will give them one heart, …and I will be their God

Eze 11:19  And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:
Eze 11:20  That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

DAY 304 - Hebrews 2:16 aid to the seed of Abraham.

Hebrews 2:16 For indeed He does not give aid to angels, but He does give aid to the seed of Abraham.

DAY 303 Lamentations 3:23 Great is Your faithfulness

Lamentations 3:22 Through the LORD'S mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

DAY 302 Psalm 101:3 I will set nothing wicked before my eyes;

DAY 302 http://t.co/frohV1A Psalm 101:3 I will set nothing wicked before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not cling to me.

DAY 298 - Proverbs 26:11-12 People who think they are wise

Proverbs 26:11-12 (New Living Translation)

11 As a dog returns to its vomit,
so a fool repeats his foolishness.

12 There is more hope for fools
than for people who think they are wise.

DAY 298 - Psalm 95:6 Bow Down and Worship Him

Psalm 95:6  O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.
